More ABOUT me
I was born and raised in Chittenden County by two hard working Vermonters. Growing up in a competitive family meant an early relationship with team sports. I found my stride on the high school football and lacrosse teams where I developed leadership skills alongside a love for sports with my teammates. At home I would follow my dad around helping him with his current home improvement project, a list the never ended. During the school day I gravitated towards the physics room and machine shop, where I leaned into my desire to build, here I learned the basics of CAD, welding, CNC operation, milling, and wood working all in service of my own new list of projects, seemingly never ending.
I went on to earn a BS in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Pure Mathematics from the University of Vermont. I relied on my experience with metal and wood working skills from High School to guide me through the technical course work at UVM. As a break from theoretical studies, I gravitated towards the school's all electric Formula style racing team, the Alternative Energy Racing Organization (AERO). It was at AERO that I studied under experienced engineers that inspired my progression to earn the position as club President and Lead Mechanical Engineer in my senior year. This was achieved collaboratively within the height of the pandemic presenting its own unique challenges to overcome — while attempting to build a race car and as important, a high performing team of diverse individuals.
At UVM I decided it was time to stretch my comfort zone in my extra-curricular activities; leading me to the club gymnastics team and a program that provided violin lessons. In these groups I formed friendships that have lasted long after graduation.
Always loving the outdoors, and doing anything it took to get out on skis, my outdoor interests grew towards the end of college and into professional life. Now I spend most of my free time, mountain biking, skiing, climbing, hiking, and camping. Always making sure to mix in my love for photography and the occasional violin practice session.
